The Downtown Falcons are the heart and soul of our Downtown Sports youth development programming. For the past twenty years, we have viewed the avenue of youth athletics as a dynamic way to impart gospel-centered values to the leaders of the next generation.
Through the generosity of donors and committed Falcons family (volunteer Coaches and Team Moms), we are currently active in the Athens Youth Football League, Boys & Girls Club of Athens Basketball Leagues and many local golf courses to give kids a chance to connect with a mentoring adult, tap into their own potential and have a ton of fun!

Our Sports
The Downtown Falcons sports ministry is the cornerstone of Downtown Ministries. There’s almost always a sport in season. Our teams are coached by volunteers and compete in leagues with other youth squads in Athens and Northeast Georgia.
Football
The Downtown Falcons strategically partner with Clarke County’s newly established Athens Youth Football League to develop our athletes sense of hometown school pride.
Basketball
Each year as the weather turns colder, Downtown Falcons head inside to the basketball court!
Cheerleading
In a tradition as old as the Downtown Falcons football program, every Falcons team has its own cheerleading squad.
Golf
Local Community Partner Winston Gibbs leads our youth golf program through his foundation, Winning Fore the Kids.
